Important Updates Regarding Medical Marijuana in Ohio

Published: Oct 16, 2017 by John Izzo

The Medical Marijuana Control Program and the Ohio Department of Commerce recently released applications for private entities to apply for a testing laboratory license. Applications will only be accepted from between November 27, 2017 and December 8, 2017. The Department received only two applications from institutions of higher learning, Central State University and Hocking College. It is unknown when the Department will decide if either Central State University or Hocking College will receive a testing laboratory license.

The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is requesting proposals for a Toll-Free Helpline for Adverse Reactions to Medical Marijuana. Proposals are due no later than 1:00 pm on November 20, 2017.

The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy has posted responses to questions submitted during the first of two Q&A periods for the dispensary application process. Questions may be submitted for the second Q&A period beginning on October 16, 2017. Dispensary applications will be accepted online from November 3, 2017 to November 17, 2017.
