About the Ohio Elections Commission
The Ohio Elections Commission hears political campaign advertising complaints, and considers violations of Ohio’s campaign finance filings with the Ohio Secretary of State or local government.
Subsequent to hearing a complaint, the Elections Commission can refer a political officeholder or candidate to the local prosecuting attorney for further enforcement action.
How an Ohio Elections Law Attorney Can Help
An attorney who has experience practicing before the Ohio Elections Commission may advise a candidate or political organization about compliance with the state’s elections and campaign laws and assist with campaign filings. Additionally, an experienced attorney may represent the subject of an elections or campaign finance complaint before the Commission, including negotiating for a beneficial outcome.
Our firm includes an attorney who has been involved in campaign finance and political action for over thirty years. We assist clients in Campaign Political Action Committee (PAC) formation and compliance. We help candidates with fundraising strategies within the confines of Ohio law. When necessary, we represent complainants and respondents before the Commission when it considers a potential violation. We work with the OEC staff in seeking positive resolution of all claims.
